Save the date and join us on March 16th, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, for a time of gathering, equipping, and mobilizing. Kristie McKenney, founder and President/CEO of Light of Life Ministries, will be our speaker. She will be sharing her story, educating and equipping us to understand the scope and impact of the trauma, abuse, and exploitation that vulnerable women in our local communities have endured, how to best respond to and support survivors, and what regional services and resources are available. This day-long retreat will include times of worship, rest, reflection, challenges, and a charge to live out our calling TOGETHER as gospel ambassadors, lights in the darkness, and loving others well. Cost $20, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, offering gift to the speaker and supplies for a craft project. Register at https://centerpointsalem.breezechms.com/form/325e5815 Our Sisterhood has journeyed together through life for over seven years. We’ve gathered on rainy and snowy nights, worshiped the Lord in praise and celebration, and loved others one step closer to Jesus. We changed the format of our gatherings to small groups during a worldwide pandemic and then changed it back to large group gatherings. We’ve laughed, cried, mourned, rejoiced, struggled, cheered, shared in each other’s victories, prayed, witnessed prayers answered, and praised.
And, through it all, you keep showing up. And it is you and your presence that makes Sisterhood what it is- a gathering of intergenerational women who strive to love God and others to make a difference in our community. You make a difference. Yes, you. Your unique perspectives and individual gifts. Your talents, passions, and interests. You, created in the beautiful image of God, created for good works and purposes, bring something to the table that no other sister can bring. We need you. And you belong. This year, we are combining our past Sisterhood experience into a hybrid format. We will offer small weekly Bible study groups and also gather together as a large group four times this year (September 22, December 9, March 16, May 11.) Each group will work at the same pace as the others as we all study the study guide for the Book of John. Below are options of days, times, and platforms for when and where groups will meet. We pray you will join a weekly Sisterhood Bible study group (or consider leading one?) We believe these groups will make all the difference in this year’s Sisterhood experience. Small group gatherings offer more opportunities for inviting friends and engaging in open discussions, connection, authenticity, and fellowship than in a large group setting. In addition, we believe these groups will help set a flame in our hearts for seeking Jesus and studying the Bible together, which will only add to the worship and praise at our large group gatherings.
