We Value:
Christ at the Center of our Community.
We are saved through Christ alone. We are born once into life in this world, and we must be born again into Life in Christ. Our faith in Jesus is the center point of our lives, and it flows throughout everything we do. Jesus is the way on earth as it is in Heaven. We proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to our world as we live as daily examples of his way, truth, and life.
A Life in Communion with Christ though Prayer.
We believe that prayer is the basis of our life in Christ and our community. Prayer is our way of life as we live in continual communion with Christ through prayer. During every Sunday service we join together in corporate prayer, and also have opportunities for individual prayer after the service. Several groups meet during the week to pray for the church and individual concerns. Immediate prayer needs are sent out to our email prayer chain, and our pastor or other staff are available for prayer during the week.
Spirit-Filled and Relevant Worship.
Our worship services are designed to help people connect to our Lord Jesus Christ, to enter into a place of Humble Worship, to be renewed and filled by the Presence of His Holy Spirit, and to understand the relevance of His Ways in our daily lives. We use a variety of worshipful expressions through music, testimonies, video, dance, art, and preaching. Our choice of music is mostly contemporary, but also includes traditional hymns. We are committed to have everyone feel welcome and at home at our services.
Bible-Based, Spirit-Filled, and Jesus-Centered Teaching.
The goal of our preaching is that we may grow in our faith, truth, and love - to become more like Jesus. Our Sunday messages or weekly classes focuses on what God has revealed in the Bible concerning our life of faith and service to Jesus by serving others. God's ways are good and build good lives from now into eternity. Sermons may be a series through a book of the Bible, or a series on a particular topic related to life. People are encouraged to read their Bible daily and bring it to the services.
Serving God by Serving Others.
The Christian life is a life of serving others. God had equipped us for this life of service with what the Bible calls “spiritual gifts.” As we discover, develop, and utilize these gifts in His service, we honor God and fulfill His purposes for our individual lives and our church.
Loving One Another in Christian Relationship.
Grace-filled relationships are the glue that binds us to our Lord and to one another. We seek to develop genuine, pure, and lasting relationships based on biblical principles. The good ways of Christ as expressed in the bible create and restore healthy relationships in marriage, family, friendships, church, community, world, and most importantly with our God. Christ connects us, while sin separates us.
God's Gift of Singleness, Sexual Intimacy, Marriage, and Children.
We believe that every individual person is made whole and complete in Jesus, and that no person is ever alone when they are partnered in life with His Spirit. Single people at Centerpoint powerfully and uniquely contribute to their work, community, family, and church in lifechanging ways. We believe that sexual intimacy is God's gift to the marriage relationship between a man and a woman to unite and bless them. We believe that all forms of sexual pursuit or gender teaching outside of marriage are incompatible with biblical teaching. We believe that children are a gift from God, and that children are the very 'least of these' who are cherished by God from conception.
Encouraging Other Churches.
Just as we want to make Christ the center-point of our lives, we also want to encourage Christians from all faith traditions to make Christ the center-point. Therefore we embrace opportunities to connect with other churches and Christian organizations. We support a variety of missionary organizations and cooperate with other local churches in collective ministries. We want to do this whenever possible, and this does not mean we affirm every teaching or practice of other organizations or denominations.
Connecting to Our Greater Community.
We want to be connected and involved with our local community in order to have as much influence for Christ as possible. We are called to be “salt” and “light;” both are metaphors of influence. We encourage our people to get involved with local activities as often as possible. We want our community to appreciate our church’s contribution to the life of our community. We want people in the community to come to faith through our example and sharing of our faith in Jesus with them in both word and deed.

our confession of faith, 1865
1. We believe that the Bible is God's Word, that it was written by men divinely and uniquely inspired,
that it is absolutely trustworthy and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2. We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom,
measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears
and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
3. We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sin of the world by His death on the Cross. We
believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His high-priestly intercession for His people,
and His personal, visible return to the world according to His promise.
4. We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from God to convince the world of sin, righteousness
and of judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, comfort and dwell in those who believe in Jesus Christ.
5. We believe that all men by nature and by choice are sinners but that "God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
We believe, therefore, that those who trust in Christ as their Lord and Savior will rejoice forever in God's
presence and those who refuse to trust in Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God.
6. We believe in the church - a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all
regenerated people are members. We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ,
buried with Him in baptism and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that to these visible
churches were committed the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, and that God has laid upon these
churches the task of persuading a lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior, and to enthrone Him as Lord and
Master. We believe that betterment and social improvement are products of the Gospel.
